Privacy Policy

JustWhisk (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a family recipe app made by Oscar te Giffel. This page explains what data the app collects, why, and how it is handled.

What we store

When you create an account we store your email address. When you save a recipe — whether imported from a URL or typed by hand — the recipe title, ingredients, method, and any notes are stored in our database, hosted by Supabase. Photos you upload are kept in Supabase’s file storage, in a private bucket that only the app can read.

Importing recipes from a URL

When you paste a URL to import a recipe, JustWhisk fetches that page. If the page contains structured recipe data (JSON-LD), we extract the recipe from it without involving any third party.

If the page does not contain structured data, the page text is sent to an AI provider (currently OpenAI) for extraction. Only the page content is sent — your account details are not included in that request.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not run advertising.
• We do not share your recipes with anyone outside your family group.

Third-party services

JustWhisk uses the following services:

• Supabase — database and file storage. Your recipes, account data, and uploaded photos are stored here.
• OpenAI — AI extraction when a recipe page lacks structured data.

Your data

You can delete your account at any time. On deletion, your recipes and personal data are removed from our systems.
